来自中文的英语语法陷阱

中文没有冠词，英语的单数可数名词前必须有 a、an 或 the。这是中文母语者最常见、也最容易被听出来的一个错误。

We have three customer in Germany.

We have three customers in Germany.

中文靠数词和量词表示数量，名词本身不变；英语必须在名词后加 -s，即使前面已经有数字。

We need more informations.

We need more information.

information、advice、feedback、equipment 在英语中不可数，永远没有复数形式。要计数时说 two pieces of information。

Yesterday I go to the client.

Yesterday I went to the client.

中文用「昨天」「了」这样的词表示时间，动词形式不变；英语必须改变动词本身。句中一旦出现明确的过去时间，就要用过去式。

He go to the meeting every Monday.

He goes to the meeting every Monday.

第三人称单数后面的动词要加 -s。中文完全没有这条规则，所以即使英语很流利的人也常常漏掉。

I work here since 2020.

I have worked here since 2020.

从过去持续到现在的情况，英语用现在完成时。中文的「我2020年就在这里工作」不需要改变动词。

Because the flight was late, so we missed the meeting.

中文的「因为……所以……」成对出现，英语只能保留其中一个。写 because 就不能再写 so。

Although he is the CEO, but he answers his own emails.

同样的道理：「虽然……但是……」在英语里只保留 although 或 but，不能两个都用。

— You haven't sent the invoice? — Yes.

— You haven't sent the invoice? — No, not yet.

中文回答的是「对方说得对不对」，英语回答的是「事实本身」。回答 Yes 在英语里表示「我已经发了」，意思正好相反。这是邮件和电话里最容易出实际问题的一点。

We sold 十万 units. → ten thousand

英语没有「万」这个单位，必须换算：一万 = ten thousand，十万 = one hundred thousand，一亿 = one hundred million。数字说错的代价最高，重要场合建议直接写阿拉伯数字。

中文的「开」和「关」在英语里对应 turn on / turn off，而不是 open / close。open 和 close 用于门、窗、文件。

Please kindly send me the file.

Could you send me the file?

please 和 kindly 同时使用在国际商务英语中显得重复、过时。英语的礼貌靠疑问句式，而不是靠叠加客气词。

I will revert to you tomorrow.

I will get back to you tomorrow.

revert 在国际英语中意为「恢复到原来的状态」，并不表示「回复」。用 get back to you 或 reply。
